On the edges of the Sahara Desert there is no light pollution, creating a vast depth of inky blue. The sun drops quickly at sunset with no twilight. Here I have suggested both day and night, whitewashed houses, clusters of small village settlements, ancient kingdoms, agricultural patterns, the heat of the day and the chill of a night under stars.
